Isn't the point that they don't accept him? I thought it was that God will fogive anything once you accept him, but until then his vengence is as great as his love?

If you believe that God punishes the wicked and rewards the righteous, then Falwell's view makes some sense. Unless you account for the US being far more Christian than most countries and still being the subject of attacks.
