Hey, you gotta love a beer that every April relabels itself "Old Froth 'n' Slosh (the beer with the foam on the bottom)." Doesn't every other beer company take itself way too seriously??
No argument: Pittsburgh Brewing's a fine company. They just make crap beer.

      • Does Killian's count as a crap beer? If not, I reckon MGD is the most drinkable of the crappy beers.

        • The best cheap beer ever was

          Blitz Weinhard

          Miller killed it off though

            • I went to the Stone Brewing Company after work today with some coworkers. No trash beers there. It was named the second best brewery in the USA in 2005 and 2006. The best was Ale Smith which is also locally owned. San Diego is the beer Mecca.

Clearly, there is only one option. Turn to hard liquor.

                  • if I can't get a good beer, I drink nothing.

The restaurant the other day was out of negra modelo, so I just drank water. I refuse to drink crap. I have standards.

                    • now I'm not a snob. When I lived in Virginia I was forced to drink crappy beer. There simply was nothing else out there!

I dronk Busch lite before. Most vilest thing I have dranken.

given the choice of crappy beers I go with Corona or miller light.

Michelob light is good too. It's more expensive than bud, and you can taste the difference. It's a better beer.

                      • oh I forgot about icehouse. it was fairly big back east during the 90's (ice beer craze). It's almost unheard of in the west though. Funny how some beers are more regional.

So are ice beers still around? I remember how big they were. I admit to drinking them. Bud ice- horrible. Molson ice- more expensive horrible. Icehouse- drinkable.

and what about bud dry? do they still make it?

                        edit:

also found out about something called bud silver in england. Anyone comment on that? and bud select.

                        anyone miss bud bowls?

To beat the other tens of thousands of breweries in the US is an impressive feat. Especially since American breweries now dominate the awards at the Beer Fests around the world including in Europe.

But this is the crappy beer thread so we will now return to speaking about crappy beer.

                          • Help me define this a bit better. Is the intent to nominate the crappiest beer ever tasted (the kind that you pray to God you can retch up rather than have it poison your body one second longer) or simply to comment on passably good cheap beers?

Yes they do. I live in Williamsburg, VA, sbout two miles from an Anheuser-Busch Brewery. One of our local grocery stores carries twelve packs of Bud Dry cans. It's the only place that I've ever seen them.
