You know what? You just might be right! To hell with the three families I'm housing! I'll kick them all out and put them on the street!
Instead of exploiting them for their money, you could be selling the property to them in shares equal to what you're currently charging in rent. That way, they are actually recieving something for the money that the are paying you and are not simply throwing money down (your) toilet. Or you can continue to get richer and their expense like a good feudal lord.

I'm not against a privately rented sector per se, but in the UK the landlord classes are making themselves fortunes at the expense of the non-propertied classes who cannot afford to buy.
Landlords with access to existing wealth buy up properties on a speculative basis - decreasing supply and driving up prices - and sell a year later for tens of thousands a year more, while having their costs covered by rent. It's one of many reasons why the UK propery market has spun out of control. The system here needs balances to prevent such abuses.
Are you seriously saying that your multiple property ownership is an act of benign philanthropy? If so, your position is not a universal one among multiple property owners, I would imagine.
But in all seriousness, this is America many of us are speaking of. I am an American, born in the 1950's, grew up in 60's and 70's.
No one tells me to get out of bed or gives me an allowance to lay around. What I own I own through hard warok and no one has "given" me anything.
I personally dont want the hassles of having rental properties but to those who do, I would certainly say you should not have to defend yourself or the right to rent to someone. there is a need for rental properties just like there is a need for ownership of properties.
I am against tentaments and slumlords but that is not the majority of landlords.
I see no reason to pick on Donegeal or any others for the right to own properties
