Re: Elitism against people who smoke/drink?

Smoking is obviously stupid. Drinking is less so.

That's why I only smoke when I'm drunk.

Some of my nicest freinds don't drink, or drink rarely.

While I like my freinds who drink a lot, some of them can be mean at times.

I think I may have gone a bit overboard.

No way. Your initial post in this thread was the first thing on Poly to make me laugh out loud in a long time.

Yeah, I have no intention of ever smoking. And since I have gone to bars a lot less in the last year, my tolerance for second hand smoke has gone way down.

A few times I have thought about using maurijuana... if I were to use it I would use it in baked form.

(as I have said, this last year I rarely drink, and I have been drunk less than 10 times in the last year)

His comment on VJ's douchiness was also good.

And you wonder why nobody posts here anymore
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Jade has a point. People have become so anal about smoking and drinking in the past few years.

There's a commercial here in Canada where it shows a smoker blowing smoke out the window of their home. Some of the smoke goes back into the home where it's shown being absorbed into clothing, furniture, and a teddy bear. Now, I know people shouldn't smoke inside of their homes especially if they have kids around, but since when has the smell from tobacco smoke been proven to be harmful? I haven't heard about those studies.

As far as drinking goes, I went back to my former university last year and revisited a bar with a friend. There, I got drunk, definitely too drunk to drive, but not so drunk that I couldn't call a cab. I wasn't fall-down drunk. I wasn't being rowdy. I wasn't about to drive a car. On the way out of the bar, the bouncer said something to the effect of "I think you've had too much to drink." in the most condescending, sanctimonious way possible. As long as I'm not causing problems or trying to drive away, what business is it of his? Drinking to excess is between me and my liver.

Society is turning into a bunch of prudes.
