now lets see if will be able to get france back on track with his program. when the students and unions take to the streets to protest, will he stare them down and break them, or will he fold like chirac and dominique de villepin and surrender to the power of the rabble, a power essentially antidemocratic, trying to excercise power over france disproportionate to their demographic group.
not to mention that they are mostly ignorant.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I applaud this action. Not because I'd know the candidates, but because it was threatened that if this guy wins, there will be violence.

Forget about that. I'm glad that the side who threatens with violence gets nothing. Nothing.

Excellent news, the last thing France needed was Royal's socialist "pie-in-the-sky" statist worldview.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

Not a big surprise, given the polls for the last few months. I am not fan of Sarkozy, but I wasn't a fan of Royal either. Not that I think Sarkozy's 'reform' policies will get very far unless he can deliver a parlimentary majority later this year.

                    blown away?

Not that I really care. It's a choice between two evils.

The last thing France needed was a parental state fulfilling every need of the lazy unemployed slob. Not talking about the unemployed people generally speaking, but those ones that refuse to work and live on welfare should be all rounded, put on a ship and sent picking up oranges in the fields.

Seeing as gen X is only now entering positions where they can make actual influential decisions. I say no, Gen X did not set up this social system. The ones responsible for that were the babyboomers/gen 68'ers...
