      I enjoyed that as well.

If I remember, the guy in it was in The Patriot with Mel Gibson and he was the deputy that lost his leg in the Matthew McCaughnehey and Samuel L. Jackson movie about the trial of the two rascist rapists

I keep hearing this. The previews made it look like the same old dreck we've seen over and over again, but a number of people have come back with how "surprisingly entertaining" it is.

          • Saw Indiana Jones tonight. It was nice seeing Indy for one last time. The movie itself isn't great. The artifact (the crystal skull) and the story surrounding it sucked, IMO. Despite that, I wouldn't say the movie sucked per se. It was an OK action movie, but nothing memorable, nothing standing out.

                  • Tried to watch "Arn - The Temple Knight" just now. It's the most expensive movie ever made in Sweden. Unfortunately it's a piece of **** based on the writings of a talentless hack and would be historian. I was so bored by the movie I turned it off after 15 minutes... Why do big swedish movie productions always suck?

                    • I watched Krull and Solarbabies again recently.

When I first watched them I was a kid and I thought they were great.

                      Now... not so much.

He sounds like the psycho Dad in American Beauty.

He'll just love Pillow Book by Peter Greenaway. Lots of close-up shots of penises, including Obi Wan Kenobi's. If you love them, you'll scream: "Penises! Glorious Penises!" But if you're like me or your dad, you'll be

They usually don't, but they made a nice gag about it in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was actually a very nice counter to the fact that women's privates are routinely shown in regular movies.

                              • Well women's pubic areas are usually just a carpet of hair, so that's not particularly offensive. It's much rarer to see actual labia or vulva onscreen (even if she's not aroused) than it is to see a flaccid penis onscreen.

That may change in future though.

One other thing that I find odd is that often characters will cry in a movie or a show, but the actor doesn't always produce the tears. They may scrunch up the face, and they may have the racking sobs, but it seems that filmmakers are willing to use a shot even if the actor can't produce tears.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. But if I think about, say, gunshot or stab wounds, the film industry is usually much more perfectionist about realism there. You wouldn't really get to see a fight that tried to convince you it was real, without blood makeup effects.

Just a weird quirk about industry standards.
