  • The show needs help. The last couple of episodes had content but they're blowing their characters away.

Jim is ****ing lame these days. So is Pam. I mean they were very central, but there's nothing in it for them anymore except will he propose or not and when. It's boring. Where's the dynamic with other players in the office? None. Just a prank or two with Dwight.

What about the storage room guys? You don't see them m much anymore. That was a nice two floor battle where the office got regularly humiliated. Now? Gone.

Jan is waste of space. There were few nice ones, the dinner with Jan and MIchale was absolutely hilarious, but it's getting old. Jan is just ****ing cruel to Michael and it's, I don't know it's depressing more than funny these days. It was way funnier when Jan was competent professional and the relationship was very akward and weird and forbidden.

Not to mention Stan. They made him an *******. That episode was mostly scary than funny.

And Toby is leaving. THat's mostly sad, the way he is leaving. It's stupid if you ask me. All the characters are getting killed with this relationship BS. Save the show and make Toby realize he is gay and find Oscar. They get it on. End of story.

Michael is trying too hard, it's getting one-dimensional where Michael is the only character these days and it's trying too hard because there's no dynamic with the office anymore.

They're killing the best character with their writing, Dwight. Dwight is still awesome.

I'm serious, they're creating too deep relationship drama in there, it's simply going into the gutter with it. Just focus on writing and focus on giving life to the characters and forget the complicated who loves who and who has to leave because of it.

Every episode these days starts like this: Michael gets to the office in the morning and has "a crazy idea" and he must pursue it and then everyone else is like doh. That's it. That's ****ing lame.

    • at least toward the end of the episode, michael listened to jim about not trying so hard with femaletoby. i don't remember her name.

      stan?
ohhh stanley. yea i liked the pretzel episode way more than 'did i stutter'.

maybe it'll be a lot better next season?

        No

Relationship drama stops it from going stale. And only Toby left and I'm sure that was worked in because the actor wanted to leave.

And it adds in Holley (ie, femaleToby), which gives Michael not only a love interest, but a love triangle with Jan.

Pam and Jim are totally played out anyway. The drama was gone when they got together (the when will he propose is a bit lame, and that's kind of what its been pushed off from the central story).

And Kevin kicks ass. I liked Stanley's "did I stutter", it was to show just how pissed he was to be working under a buffoon, but does it for the paycheck... kind of like a lot people in the real world do.

Dwight is still a great character, and now he's stealing Andy's girl!!

        • Kevin is likeable yeah. Dwight is great but that's about it.

It is going stale already. This is why you need creative writing, so you don't have to ****ing change the show into some episode of Friends.

          • But it isn't going stale .

They are just transitioning from Jim and Pam being the central story to the show, to it going back a little bit.

            Michael is still great

And Creed is great. So is Phyllis, Angela, Stanley, etc.

Obviously this was a transition season. Ryan being at corporate (and now gone it seems). Jan adjusting, and Michael dealing with it. Jim and Pam in a relationship and not being the central story of the show.

Interestingly Ryan and Toby are both writers for the show (along with Kelly), so maybe they are finding the writing and acting is taking too much out of them and want to focus on writing.

                    • I watched all the new episodes this weekend. I don't think it reaches the heights of late season 2/season 3 but it's still damn good.

3rd? I'm pretty sure it's only the 2nd, due to last week's debate.

                            • Yeah, it be the 2nd. Though the 1st was an hour long, IIRC.

Though one this one apparantly is co-written by Ricky Gervais .

And its tomorrow night, not tonight.
