Only to tools like you, Imran. Me, I'm on the cutting edge of social trends. Gummint-subsidized Wonderbread and NASCAR ticket giveaways are where it's really at. Or will be in another couple of months. Celebrities, pshaw.

I wouldn't have a memory of it anyway, as it happened long before I moved to this country.

Still, my point stands - that these race hustlers don't get called on their bs to the same extent as this Imus fracas. Where is the outrage over the Tawana Brawley incident, the Freddies Fashion Mart incident, the false accusations of the Duke lacrosse players...etc?

There is no downside for them. They aren't cowards, just smart marketers.
Backing down because of pressure from race hustlers is cowardly IMO. It may also be smart marketing, but I suppose asking for a little integrity is too much.

Whoah, those two aren't even in the same league when it comes to scumbaggery.

Yeah, those sponsors have had their name mentioned for free in almost every news spot about the firing.

I don't think it was cowardly. If it was for something more gray line, then yes I would call the cowardly, but nappy haired hos is pretty far over the line as far as I'm concerned. As for context, I can't think of any context on a national broadcast that would make it OK.

                      Not even the Chapelle show?

Course the big difference is Chapelle is pure genius while Imus is teh suk.

I agree that it was a stupid thing for Imus to say and I'm not defending it, but would the sponsors have pulled out if Sharpton hadn't made a fuss? That's what I think is cowardly - kowtowing to this despicable huckster.
