I thought someone could enlighten me on the neurochemical functionality of that medication.
Edit : Dammit AAHZ - you're not supposed to be rationalWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

She still has trouble sleeping, which can make things worse as one's brain needs sleep and will slip more easily if lacking sleep, but she's ok now. Sure, she's now fat while she was slim when we married. The drugs have side effects, and these may not work for you as they don't work for everyone. But these drugs let her be alive and happy.
But if drugs have an effect on you, you should take them. My wife stopped using them once because she felt better, despite all I could say, and one year later she suffered from pangs of panic and had to be treated again, with more drugs, resulting in more side effects.
About 1% of the population suffers from schizophrenia if I get my figures right. It's actually probably a lot of different causes having the same effect, and there i some research about drugs acting on the right elements in the brain (don't ask me the names, I'd have to google them up), but it's not likely to come in anytime soon, and may or may not work on you depending on the cause of the problem.
I'm sorry I can't help much except say find a good psy, but you shouldn't reject drugs if a doctor proposes you, because long term they can be a real benefit, despite all the side effects.I work on that drug, as well as Vivitrex, a drug for alcohol dependence.
This is my first time working on psycho drugs, but I find it just as rewarding as when I worked on the cancer drugs.
From what I understand, they (meaning scientist) have very little understanding of how the drugs actually work.
AAHZ, if you are prone to stop taking your drugs I would ask your doctor about Risperdal. Of course I'm biased though.
