hmm, well I'm not a left winger. not by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, I have went through phases as Imran likes to point out. Yes it's sad the position many people are in, but in the end, it's not the goverment's job to bail them out. My motto is to help out for a short time, but not to raise. Which is what some goverments essentually do. The goverment is not your mommy.

But I do believe in global warming. And I do believe there's a very good chance humans are the cause of it. But I advocate adapting, and developing new technologies over turning our society into a backwards society while India and China surpass us.

If trade-unions, and more generally workers (who are not all leftists), are anti-globalisation, it is not because they have an anti-industry sentiment, but on the contrary because they have an excessive attachment to their factories. This attachment is due to reasons which are not all rational, but its existence explains why trade-unions organize so many hard demonstrations against the destruction of factories delocalized.

The anti-industry sentiment, or more precisely, the anti-industry strategy, has been described by big-bosses explaining to their shareholders that a really modern company does not need factories any longer; all the manufacturing can be subcontracted, preferably abroad. The whole population of qualified workers, technicians and engineers (the work-force of the industry) have now lost their feeling of belonging and of usefulness.

Accusing of having an anti-industry sentiment those who loose their industrial job and not those who deliberately built a strategy of destruction of factories, is another remarkable example of the twisted thoughts carefully developed by the author of the O.P.

Believing that global warming exists but has no serious consequences is "the next best thing" for many people who denied global warming existed just a few years ago.

I am positively surprised by them not even trying "global warming exists, and it is good", after all some scientists tried to find benefits for smoking, so something shameless wouldnt have been unthinkable.
