The only good thing that can be said for seals is that they exhale CO2, and if left unmanaged can speed the warming and the transformation of Halifax into Miami Beach North.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
Calling AGW a "left-wing belief" is like calling Darwinian Evolution, or a 4.6 billion-year-old Earth a "left-wing belief"
Apocalyptic Global Warming is in no way similar to evolution. Most reasonable people believe the earth is warming, but only leftie true believers think that it's going to cause a global catastrophe...

The anti-industry sentiment, or more precisely, the anti-industry strategy, has been described by big-bosses explaining to their shareholders that a really modern company does not need factories any longer; all the manufacturing can be subcontracted, preferably abroad. The whole population of qualified workers, technicians and engineers (the work-force of the industry) have now lost their feeling of belonging and of usefulness.
You think it's the engineers' jobs that go overseas when a factory closes?
But I do believe in global warming. And I do believe there's a very good chance humans are the cause of it. But I advocate adapting, and developing new technologies over turning our society into a backwards society while India and China surpass us.
I agree. It pisses me off every time some right-wing Denialist bozo claims that most Lefties are "Deep Green" luddite nuts and that most of us think a healthy environment and a strong economy can't co-exist, which is BS.

It could also be to do with the anti-industry sentiment that runs through most of the main left-wing opinions - trade unions, anti-globalisation, anti-free trade etc. It's just another sneaky sploy to derail the capitalist train from its progression and creation of wealth.
Well...stronger language than I'd use, but it's a reasonable sounding connection. What I believe is that there are just as many idiots on the left as there are on the right. Since there's definitely right-wingers who blindly subscribe to things that suit a right-wing agenda, I'm sure the same is on the other side. So doubtless there are lefties who fit your hypothesis.
There's no need for them to blindly follow said agenda, of course, since the scientific evidence is on their side.
