If it weren't for those innovations, we'd still be playing civ2. Civ2's a great game for sure, but after a while a wind of change is desireable.

It is actually true - I don't have it installed right now . Having played civ 4, I think I would miss resources while playing Freeciv.

It is actually a few years since I developed on Freeciv. But even then I found it more fun to "play" code Freeciv instead of playing the game itself. It is just more motivating to make something "permanent" like Freeciv code than actually playing the game.

Part of the reason I don't have it installed is that working on it again would take too much time and attention. Too addictive .
