I think the main reason might be the diseases that came from it. Some of these have been around a very long time.

Or perhaps people feel guilty about feeling good. I know I sometimes do.

I think the main reason is jealousy. People who aren't getting it go around telling people that are getting it that they shouldn't be getting it.

Nothing, so long as you can handle the potential consequences that sexual activity entails. Teenagers can't. An unexpected pregnancy at 25 is unwelcome, but probably manageable. An unexpected pregnancy at 15 is a disaster.

My mom was 19 when she got married. Dad was 20. She went to an all girl highschool. Kissed 3 guys. Then dated my dad. BAM she gets pregnant, they get married, kid number 1 pops out.

Interesting. So they had premarital sex, couldn't manage to deal with contraception... heh. I have some understanding now why you don't really care about their opinions on the matter.

Putting aside the silly "wait until you're married" stuff, 15 is very young. I'm sure you don't want to hear that, but it's true. Even if *you* are quite mature for your age, chances are the boys are not (and any "mature" man who is hitting on you has other issues).

Will she listen to us if we tell her not to be sexually active at age 15? Probably not.

Actually, I don't care about their opinions on much of anything at all. :\

Condoms are always involved when I have sex. All my partners act responsibly. I just want to be sure about things.

a) If you're with somebody you aren't exclusive with you need to wrap it up every time anyway.

b) If you're with a long-term girlfriend then you should know her cycle and be extra super duper careful for the week around ovulation. No "I'll just put it in for a minute" or "I'll pull out before I spurt. Honest".

Condoms don't work if you aren't wearing them. As simple as that. But I'm not going to tell some girl to swallow a bunch of hormones she doesn't want to just because I'm too irresponsible to go to the bathroom and grab a condom...
