Australian shepherd mix, according to the article. My family used to have an AS mix, believe it or not. She was about 70 lbs., although moderately overweight, so healthy she'd have been about average-sized for a dog, I suppose. Smaller than a German shepherd, but hardly a "snack food" dog, as we call chihuahuas and their ilk. Of course, the size and temper of the dog depend greatly on what the Aussie shepherd was mixed with...but I imagine this dog was about the size of a Labrador.

The dog was probably white, otherwise the media would have made a big deal over it.

            K,

You're right!. Plus Obama gets to kill whitey in hopes of courting teh Al Sharpton endorsement he's been after.

            It all fits.

Yeah. I had to suppress a bit of a scream myself when I learned that you don't know how to spell "giftwrapped".
I for one would never want to be gift raped!

mother****er. I didn't need to read this regarding OP.

I don't know why, but I just feel dogs are defenseless against humans and humans abuse dog's trust.

I want this guys head to be cut off. Is that so wrong?

Own place with a garage. So, it's most likely older than 20 years..

Of course I'm only an expert. You can't just go with a motive alone, you need to take resources and other stuff into account. 2 weeks suggests resources someone middle aged has, not someone who is a kid.
What resources do you need to kidnap a dog and keep him locked away?
Take for example they lived in a more rural area, had a garden in which the dog could move freely (and without constant observation) and the dog knew the dognapper.
It wouldn´t take much to wait for an unobserved moment, bait the dog with food to the border of the garden and then take him away (to which the dog probably wouldn´t resist if he knew the dognapper/s) and then keep him in some abandoned barn till it is time to cut his head off.

No special resources necessary that a school kid (or a group of school kids) couldn´t have available.

                        that is seriously sick.

the person needs to sit in jail cause he is dangerous to society.

i bet this isn't the first time he killed a living thing.

                        this is seriously sick too:

Why? I used to vent to my pets when I felt sad or lonely. I fail to see anything wrong with that since they make for very good listeners.

venting a bit is normal i guess

but telling local newspapers that you used to talk to your pets, and how they 'never shared your secrets'? They're freaking pets! They couldn't bark it even if they want to.
