I go with the theory of neighbour pissed off with the girl and the dog, I imagine the dog barked a lot, crapped on other people´s houses, etc and the neighbour would tell the girl to stop that, the girl didnt listen to the neighbour, until one night at 4 am the guy cant sleep, has a nervous breakdown, grabs the dog, shoots it, beheads it, puts the head in a box and later sends it to the girl, while thinking, now this b i t c h will learn

But I think a scenario in which this was kind of justified could be possible, altough he was most likely an evil bastard.

I know a guy who had a puma chained in his backyard as a pet, it was a total danger, because if it escaped it could kill a man, other pets etc, wo while the guy wass out, the neighbours threw poisoned food into the backyard, the puma ate it and died.

Maybe the dog, was big and dangerous, the girls could barely dominate him while walking the dog that is somethign I see often, skinny weak woman walking dogs heavier than them, and they are basically being pulled all around the street by the dog), maybe it was a dangerous animal who also barked a lot and crapped on peoples gardens, houses etc, and the girl didnt care, then I think she has it deserved.

If it was a small dog, who was nice, didnt bark, the girl was an angel, and the guy only did that to scare her then od course the guy was a sick evil bastard.

Talking about killing pets, this reminded me of a story, my grandma had a cat who was pregnant, searching for a safe place to give birth it went to a neighbours house and gave birth all over new recently bought white sheets, so the neighbour throws the cat and the baby cats into a river (inside a box), my grandma thought they were all dead but half a year later the cat returns (probably after walking dozens of kilometers)

I think this isn't ex-boyfriend, why? Because the girl is 17, so if it's an ex, it's most likely a guy under 20, and the fact that he kept the dog for 2 weeks means he has his own place, not in college, not in some crowded apartment. Own place with a garage. So, it's most likely older than 20 years..

Of course I'm only an expert. You can't just go with a motive alone, you need to take resources and other stuff into account. 2 weeks suggests resources someone middle aged has, not someone who is a kid.
