  • Well this new guy doesn't seem so bad IMO. I don't know much about him, but so far what I've read, not too bad of a guy. Maybe he will be successful.

I guess so, since he lives in the woods.

Btw, I failed to explain, Medved is Medved it doesn't mean the bear in Russian. At least not exactly. The bear in Russian is "Medved' (Ìåäâåäü)". Medved (Ìåäâåä) is the corrupted spelling of what is bear in Russian (M-e-d-v-e-d-'-". The whole idea of that sub-culture is intentinally wrong spelling of words.
        Nevermind, forget it.

"Medved'" originated as a euphemism for "bear", which actually sounded a lot like "bear" in Old Slavonic. The word "bear" was taboo because it could summon the animal, which usually meant problems. Yes, "medved'" means something like "honey-expert" or "honey-eater".

The difference between medved' and medved is the palatalization of the last consonant, which occurs only in the original word. It might sound not really important for you Anglophones (most of you won't probably be able to palatalize this word), just like "*****" and "beach" sound the same to Russophones, but it's a crucial difference: if Medevedev's name stemmed from medved, not medved', he'd be Medvedov.

And Serb's wrong this time: medved and the word it says, "preved" (which actually would sound just like its real counterpart, "privet" if pronunced properly, many unstressed vowels are reduced to the same sound in Russian, and voiced consonants can become voiceless, d->t, you have to enunciate the word just like it's written to make it sound funny), have nothing to do with padonki the scumbags. This form of word bastardization comes from another cesspool, dirty.ru.

to the tune of "Wont you come home, Bill Bailey"

When Benjamin Disraeli was Prime Minister of England,
And good old Queen Victoria was the Queen,
Whenever she would need him for official palace business,
Disraeli, he was nowhere to be seen.

She went down to 10 Downing Street,
                            The doorbell there she rang,
And when there was no answer,
This is what the good Queen sang:

Won't you come home, Disraeli. Won't you come home.
                            Come home to Queen Victoria.
Don't leave that House of Commons, and that House of Lords.
                            Just sittin' waitin' for ya.
I'm gettin' awful lonesome, 'cause all I do
Is sit here reading Ethan Frome.
                            Now don't leave me flat,
The key to the palace is under the mat.
Disraeli, won't you please come home.

Won't you come home, Disraeli. Won't you come home.
                            Come home to Queen Victoria.

You claim official business took you away
To Egypt, and Bombay, and Rome.
                            Well, I ain't so certain,
'Cause you're the Nineteenth Century Richard Burton,

Disraeli, won't you please (I miss you, Dizzy)
                            Disraeli, won't you please,
                            Disraeli, won't you please,
