If they are legal tenants you cant. At least here in the US, if they are squatters, you can.

    • LotM has a point - typically a tenant's rights are tied to the lease agreement. Failing that, I suppose there would be municipal ordinances or statutes that govern the eviction process.

Regardless of that, I doubt that forced entry + assault qualifies as a proper eviction in Denmark. But I'm still looking for where that came from...

      • arrian,

after having re-read kid's "propaganda sheet," i see no evidence there of breaking and entering by the fundys OR cops. i suppose one COULD twist the words around however...

Kid don't fight me on legal stuff-- you would lose

All lease arrangements I have ever seen have provisions for the owner to view the property-- With a proper tenant , a landlord can go and change the locks if they want and issue a new key.

          They OWN the building.

Where is the source for all this break-in stuff anyway??

That surprises me. I thought this was an open centre for alternative folks. Barring the doors and allowing only certain folks inside seems to be contrary to its mandate

          • The cops did ultimately force their way in to arrest the squatters who refused to leave (that was in the OP articles). Hell, it sounds like they dropped in anti-terror police (Danish SWAT?) via helicopter.

But obviously that was after the court decision (and the appeal).

true. i think thats what kid means by "breaking in." he is making that generalization without any other factual base for reference. not even the activist ARTICLE backs his argument up.

Possibly-- but IMHO you should not allow yourself to be prevented from doing legal and normal things like selling a building because you fear some people might not like it. Should a city deny an abortion clinic the right to open ( in a jurisdiction where such building is legal) because they fear that the Chrristians might get violent.

Just becuase you own the building does not gvie you the right of an occupant. You can not break in to the building and throw the occupants out and make yourself the occupant.

                      • see what i mean?
kid thinks the activists still have a legel occupancy of the building. so a bunch a homeless people claim an abandoned warehouse, that makes them "occupants" in kids mind.

THATS where all this "breaking in" stuff comes from.

Not if the occupants are legal tenants. If theyre not, of course you can make yourself the occupant. You can put the illegal occupants furniture out on the street. You can even do so if they WERE legal tenants, but they failed to pay their rent, and didnt honor an eviction notice. The fact that they put a lock on the door means nothing. The lock is illegal, and can be removed.

So the city policy should be dominated by those who threaten violence?

Bullies: Hey, city council, do what I want or I'll riot!

City council: Oh, gosh, we'd better do what they say!

                              **** that.
