I hope they could come up with better strategies, I' dlike to see a strategy of 'enrage and consume'. That means, enrage your oppoentn so much, that they will do mistakes and consume a lot of energy.
FOr example, shoot rubber bullets at rioting girls. Target girls. The boys will be so fired up, then when you baton them down, they will die from rage. But rubber bullets are dangerous so shoot only legs. This way they are also too banged up to have sex with the boys, so the boys will have to stop because they aren't getting laid anymore.
This won't injure anyone seriously, it's relatively safe. So you'll show strength, don't come up with excuses, it's gender equality. We shoot only girls. Then, when the boys get really angry, someone will amke a mistake and open fire with a real gun. Then just waste the mother****ers. Change to real bullets. Let's see who wants the club house.
It's all about the right response level. Match the force with accepted force.
So if a loud demo, obscenities shouted.. that means just guard that everything goes peacefully. No ski masks, no batons, no riot gear. But readiness for breaking the crowd, in case it gets out of the hand.
ROcks are thrown, you see sticks and self made batons? Riot gear, batons, no ski masks, no dogs. Break the crowd. Arrest masked individuals.
A full overnighter, masked people, rocks, lights, batons, and attacks at vehicles. Riot gear, ski mask, batons, tear gas, dogs. Force use on the spear of the crowd as well as in the middle. Snatch teams, choppers, and filming the now new riot.
Destruction of private property at will, molotov cocktails, improvised weapons, more than an overnighter? Rubber bullets, long riots batons. Batons to the face, bullets to the legs and stomach. Arrest anyone you can get a hold of. Snatch teams can also use force in the vans.
One single weapon and/or real explosive? Give warning to leave the area immidiately, peopel who still are hostile, waste the mother****ers. Use choppers at night, flying around the area, saying "We have your comrades. We are not going to let them out. Every single night will give them a week more in jail and harsher sentence. They pay for your mistakes. Stay home. You are pussies. Come and fight or stay home."
Intelligence work, so you can go and snatch people out of their houses or where ever they live. Use dogs, ski masks, excessive force. Show them who the boss is. Separate girls from boys. Put boys in real prison with real prisoners. See how tough they really are. Fresh ass for everyone.
Snipers with rubber bullets, from tear gas to more effective military grade youth energy extractors. Nothing really dangerous though.

Okay... I thought the building would have to have been abandoned at some point before you could reasonably claim these guys were squatters. So I suppose everybody who stops paying the rent and doesn't move out is a squatter by definition.

I'm actually quite curious to see them because I have seen several hours of footage without a second of unnessecary beating. Belive me, the telly comapnies and the newspapers would have put it on main pages if the had any such kind, and they strangely doesn't have.

like i said, i dont know the language or the laws. it might be a felony to throw insults at an officer of the law over and over again. the person in question could have been telling the people "ok lets fight!"
actually the protesters rushed the police to begin with. the cops handled the situation correctly IMHO. Sometimes though kid, unfortunately, a person of authority must show a little force to scare everyone else not to do the same thing. Its kind of a "DOG-PACK" mentality...

No, it's not the same place. That video was shot in front of the church, or forum, or whatever you're supposed to call the gathering place of that Christian group.
A considerable number of activists entered and did their very best, not only to disturb the service, but to break whatever stuff they found at the same time. Hopefully, this information can assist you to understand just why the police might have wanted to go with a pretty determined approach.
