No problem with the wrong dating, except for one thing - that vid dosn't expose any kind of police brutality. Actually it's a good display of not using force unles it's nessecary.

If you care to look at the details, then the batons are primarily not in action - only in a few moments are they used.

That vid actually documents that the police is very hesitant to use force unless it's nessecary.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

err-- In a democracy they work with others that agree and change the law.

If they cannot, they may just have to live with a law that has "no basis in morality"

A considerable number of activists entered and did their very best, not only to disturb the service, but to break whatever stuff they found at the same time. Hopefully, this information can assist you to understand just why the police might have wanted to go with a pretty determined approach.

good info again--So we have a group that illegally enters and causes destruction in the home of another group-- The deserve nothing but contempt

So you think the baton beating is necessary. Do you watch the whole thing through. About 2 min in one police officer that seems very frustrated is standing over the demonstrators. I thought at first that he gets something out to handcuff someone, but what he does is wrap the baton around his hand nice and tight and put the baton behind his back.

First, I want to know why you think he is standing right there in that particular spot leaning over the demonstrators seeming to carry on some conversation with one or more of them. Then I would like to ask you why he has to beat them.

It seems to me that they should have been there to arrest the demonstrators. Later it shows some demonstrators being arrested. The police are seperating them one by one which seems like the way to go about it.

That however is not what is going on 2 min in. So why exactly is it necessary to beat the people with the baton at that point.

Not really. A good way to get something legal is just to keep doing it. Just ignore the law.

According to your views expressed here they deserve to be charged with vandalism. Is that what you call contempt or are you refering to police violence?

                • A total of 643 have been arrested since the riots started on Thursday. 140 of those are foreigners (among them 20 Norwegians, 20 Swedes, 25 Germans).

218 of the 643 have been jailed by the courts for 2-4 weeks, pending further investigation of their cases.

And now for the good news; despite the rioters being radical left-wingers, types who on previous occasions have routinely vandalized McDonald's outlets as part of their anti-imperialist struggle, police fetched McDonald's take-away for them while they were in custody!

Some of the arrestees have said they perceived unmistakable hints of grinning upon the officers' faces, as they handed out the familiar brown paper bags to the cells, while the police deny that there were any ulterior motives behind the choice of catering. Police say it's a matter of what is most convenient to get at the particular time it's needed, and also note that most of the arrestees did manage to finish their meals..

It has been relatively quiet in the city for the past 24 hours, by the way. The building at the center of the commotion will likely be demolished during the coming week. The owners are reportedly planning to replace it with new structures that will include space for offices and residential apartments.

                  • I guess the fascists are really nazis for not providing everyone with vegentarian option. Food is too good for these people, they should be wasted and left to rot. Pretty soon these maniacs will cry how wrong it is to eat a cow. Tell that to someone who really is hungry, people who die from hunger, tell them you dont' want to eat you stupid mother****er.

Let's hope their butts will get raped by other prisoners.

                          Needs
There are many basic needs, which have been catalogued in Janov's books, including some that were not previously widely recognized as needs, such as our need to be touched and held. "Our first needs are solely physical ones for nourishment, safety and comfort. Later we have emotional needs for affection, understanding and respect for our feelings. Finally intellectual needs to know and to understand emerge."[1] When needs go unfilled for too long, Pain is the result.

                            • let me just add something else here. i dont agree with extreme views one way or the other. in this case it is leftist groups rioting and causing havok and property damage and worse. now if we were talking about right wing fascists slaughtering protesters left and right, i would have to step in as well and say, "enough is enough."

i agree i have acted the fool here on several occasions. but rest assured that will not happen again. my viewpoint is, and always has been really, to find a fair and BALANCED solution to the problem. Until the world can find such balance, im afraid we are all doomed. so it appears all these loony tunes have to use on their side is fear and oppression.

speaking of fair and balanced, the media ALWAYS contorts things out of control. i just bet the media there is dissecting this making this out to be some sort of "conspiricy" or worse. they are probably using their well honed "character assassination techniques" right now on these people making them out to be villains and killers. COME ON lest be real here. i have stood on the sidelines and joked about this long enough. THERE MUST BE BALANCE.

Kids ranting and raving about communism is bad. Pekkas ranting and raving about killing people is also bad. rest assured i wont turn back into my "OLD" self anytime soon, and start personally attacking those that disagree with me. i have been awoken by others more powerful than me. and since that happened, you will find i will share my viewpoint without fear of being "FLAMED" for i am quite capable of defending myself.

                              Thanks, PIECE
