Correct! I was really expecting #2 to be one of the first ones guessed, and was surprised it took everyone so long.

After all, I said people would kick themselves if they got 2 and 8 wrong, since they're our Civ4 friends, Ramses and Hatshepsut!

Yes that's true. And it's interesting that they could be so diverse while still adhering to the same stereotypical standards.

A saw a statue of her once from before her reign, back when she was just Thutmosis II's queen. She's of course depicted as a beautiful woman rather than as king.

Maybe Civ's leaderhead could use a false beard?

Yes much easier. You're correct on all your guesses, though I'm not sure if 2. can be easily delineated as Menes or Narmer or what.

Are there any portraits of Narmer/Menes besides the palette?

Judging by the looks I think #8 is one of the Amenemhats of Dyn 12 (I don't think you would pick 2 Senwosrets )
