Australia bought 59 M1A1 (AIM) tanks as well as recovery, refueling and transport support vehicles, for AU$ 550 mil. The general idea is that out forces are interoperable with US forces, so for instance, Aussie tank crews can be flown over to a combat zone and man US tanks without the need for retraining or more complicated logistics of shipping Aussie tanks to the battle. It also allows our forces to integrate with US forces more effectively once they are there.I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).Comment

Canada still sent more than that to Afghanistan alone.
