All language is a construction anyway.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I sometimes think that civilization would have progressed much more vigorously if the word "construction" was only used in the concrete sense.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

They call themselves black now, with the term African-American reserved for official terms and making self-conscious white folk nervous. At least, that's how it is where I grew up.

I don't think I've had need to use a gender neutral pronoun in all my life.

If someone of unknown gender stole a bicycle for example, and I had to inform someone of it, I would just say:

              'someone stole a bike'

              'a person stole a bike'

'a bastard thief stole a bike'

Why the need for a stupid gender neutral pronoun? The only people who seem to have a problem is Europeans who have gender neutral pronouns built into their own language. My message to them is this: stick to your own language.

What European languages have a gender neutral pronoun?

Well, Armenian does, but nobody gives a fcuk about Armenian.

Why hir...that is a really awkward word. I would automatically go for hem...far easier to say and shorter

Yeah, I'll call someone in London that - they'd be horribly insulted by being called an American

Just curious, I have a friend (and now a former colleague) who is Jamaican - it is quite interesting to talk to him about what the perceived stereotype of Jamaica is and what it is actually like. He was a clever bloke, managed to get out of the ****ty department I work in and get himself a good R&D position in formulation
