It's brisk here today. It's about 33 F / 1 C, but gusts of wind up to 35 mph.
Apparently, the beltway was a parking lot this morning because one tractor trailer was blown against another, causing a huge wreck. Also, there's lots of power outages.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. It snowed last night/this morning, but we only got ~1 inch and it's very, very wet snow that is likely to melt today. It started as rain.

On Sunday, my children picked flowers for me in the garden. On Thursday, it took me an hour of showeling to get my car out. I hate showeling snow! Today, the road to my job was blocked by 5 trucks that were stuck in drifting snow piles.
Did I mention that my great grandfather died from a heart attack while showeling snow. He was only 40, and left a widow and 12 children behind.So get your Naomi Klein books and move it or I'll seriously bash your faces in! - Supercitizen to stupid students

Apparently it should lighten up by tomorrow. Rain is expected, and that REALLY melts snow in a hurry.
That does me little good, however, because I am now out of cigarettes. The car is still a no go, so I face a 2 hour walk (1 hour there, 1 hour back) to get a measly pack of cigerettes. GRRR
