    What a bunch of brats.

Well, I'm American and younger than you. Ergo, I must be a brat. QED.

I'd wager that pretty much everyone who grew up in a 1st-world country counts as a spoiled brat if the judge of brattiness is from the 3rd world...

I dont have a car, but it is good, because I dont know how to drive, so I would probably run over someone.
Also, not having a car is ecological, it feels good to know you are not guilty of global warming.

I also dont have air conditioning, so I am constantly in the shadows, wearing only my underwear, during summer.

/me ponders whether DD is trolling.

                    /me ponders biting anyway.

                    ****it.

I assert that the last time an American died to defend American freedom was 1865.

                      I disagree:

The reason al Qaeda attacked is because it wanted to turn the U.S. into an Islamic theocracy.
We went into Afghanistan to attack al Qaeda at its base.
Therefore, soldiers who died there, did so to protect western-style freedoms in America.

That was to defend American territorial integrity. Lincoln and the rest of the North could have given two ****s about slavery.

Ah, DD, you assume I'm talking about Union soldiers.

I'm actually talking about both sides. Each arguably died for American freedom. The Rebs died to defend "states rights" including, of course, the right to own slaves. The Union soldiers died, among other things, to free said slaves (not the prime motive of Lincoln, we agree, but nonetheless a factor that is born out in many surviving letters - at least some of the soldiers really were fighting for that reason. Including some black Union soldiers...).
