The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.
Intersting how the rant includes virtually nothing addressing the actual issues (bolded) that the poll was about. It makes the rant's conclusion (that the media is to be ignored) nicely ironic.

Not one single soldier has died in Iraq for "your freedom" Sloww.

Don't you think that if there were other countries that were even close, I would have at least visited them?

If you'd have simply said "Yes", I'd have saluted you for your patriotism. I think the same way about India (the difference being that at this point it is clearly not the greatest - my stance is that given enough time (a few more decades), it will inevitably become the greatest, because of its extremely strong roots - that is has the potential to far surpass anything the world has ever seen), and I appreciate and applaud people with similar feelings towards their own country.

People in America wouldn't know true hardship if it bit them on the ass and slapped them silly.

What if it slapped them on the arse and called them Debbie?

I have no patriotism. For a long time I really disliked the United States. It was part of being liberal. But now that I'm not a liberal and I'm just some crazy radical with liberal tendencies, I've come to acknowledge the simple truth of the matter; there simply is no country better.

Had this email been circulated during Clinton's presidency, I think Sloww's reaction would've been different.

But now, when there is a Texan cowboy (a pretend one, of course, but nevermind that) in the WH...
