In the world of internet message boards about christianity, I have found a surprisingly high number of (mainly) evangelicals who have studied greek and hebrew to be able to read the bible in the original languages.
Discussions between protestants about the meaning of a sentence in the bible often goes to discussing what the sentence means exactly in greek or hebrew, I bet they make a large % of the people who study those languages.I need a foot massage

I am studying Greek, I would give a lot of money to learn it with one click on a button!
And indeed, most important for me would be to learn Greek b/c of the New Testament, but there are old phylosophes I would really like to read in Greek.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

To get a sense where my mind is , I thought this was going to be about sex acts. I spent a couple of seconds wondering what type of act "Latin" was before I opened the thread.
Now -- I would learn Greek if it was the modern useful Greek or if the form of Greek would be of any use in the modern day-- I would pick a useful language over an archic one any day.
If they are both archaic, I still think I would learn GreekYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

Latin.
If I learned Greek, then I coudn't say, "But for mine own part, it was all Greek to me." It would have lost its meaning.

It's okay, I already figured that out. The only word that cannot be obviously and immediately linked with its English counterpart is Bellum, and I just happened to know that meant war anyways.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
