It's much the same thing here. Middle Class by developed world standards of income, or even about half of that, means you're ridiculously wealthy compared to most of the people around you. For the price of a meal at a diner in the mall you can hire a live-in maid/cook for a month. Or a driver. Or a gardener.
Though in many cases here it seems to be more about poor relatives working in rich relatives homes for even less in the way of monetary compensation. (Living in a nice house and eating good food being the main benefits.)Comment
