He made a few noises about stopping the bill, but they made a couple minor adjustments that left the bill effectively the same, and he turned around and voted for it, yeah.

The last time a standing Senator made President was JFK. LBJ was VP before President, and Ford was a house member, then VP.

I like McCain too. But you got to be a bit of a psycho to like the torture crap, no matter who your dealing with. I guess McCain had to experience torture during his war years so he knows what it feels like. Which made him oppose the inbred texas fool who wanted to torture people.

Don't insult McCain and all the other American serviceman who actually got tortured in Vietnam by comparing what happened to them to the limp-wristed **** we subject Al Qaeda types to.

                Except that he didn't.

How would you like to be subjected to what our people are doing for a few years?

That's the funny thing about W. He's a New England blueblood poseur trying to seem like a tough guy Texan. [/offtopic]

I think Richardson could have scooped up the nomination last time if he'd gone after it. But he declined.

If he makes a run for it this time, he'll be a strong candidate.

IIRC he just threw his hat in the ring.

I'll put it this way. I'd much rather spend a few years being subjected to American "torture" than a few hours subjected to Vietnamese (ie. real) torture. Stress positions would suck, but at least I'd have all my teeth...
