You have to wonder what country he thinks he's in that we hurt his feeling is an acceptable defense for assault and battery.

He is a total scumbag. As for which country - he obviously assumes he is in a country which defends the right of right-wing terrorists to commit mass slaughter with impunity, and then to attack those who object.

Seeing as the President is a supporter of Otto Reich, it's not surprising that this guy feels entitled to act as he does.

              • So apparently we were the topic of discussion on a tv show in Cuba.

And, here's a link to Granma, the national paper of Cuba discussing the attack.

This actually makes me feel pretty cool.

                        • Some young comrades down here had the very bad idea to counter demonstrate, and before talking to anyone with any ****ing sense, they started making plans. I can't let them go by themselves, and there are only gonna be like 5 people counter-demoing. This is a very, very bad idea.

I'm glad it turned out well but it easily could have had a different conclusion as che stated throughout the thread. I believe the exact words were "very, very, very VERY stupid."

I was in Greensboro just the other day, and can report that the Woolworths in question will now be the home of a civil rights center and museum.

I would still suggest that lunch counter sit in has a somewhat different nature than a demo or counter demo. A direct civil disobedience action only takes a couple of people (sometimes only one) a demo on the other hand usually takes hundreds or thousands to make an impression, which is the whole point - a demo is not an act in the way a sitin is (well except in countries where demos are banned) its a form of communication, and the first thing it communicates, to get folks to pay attention to the rest, is how many folks there are willing to come out.

It would have been very odd to have 5000 folks at the Greensboro Woolworths. I dont think they would have fit.
