This guy is a real terrorist. There was a documentary about him yesterday or day before that on TV. Can't say I'm impressed by the dude, he is nothing but a terrorist.

It is also ironic, that people who say so would be attacked. Posada is a POS, make no mistake about that. It's not even an issue that is sooo ambivalent. It's quite clear cut, he's a terrorists, and just because his target is 'legit', doesn't make him any different. Plus, he hasn't actually gotten Castro.. just a bunch of other people, like innocents only. That should be his motto, innocent people only, to justify his **** ups.
He doesn't care about anyone, he is obsessed, and he is a terrorist. Supporting him is insane, unless you align yourself with the terrorists. In da butt.

He's got it into his head that the far right in the US resembles the far right in Europe. Just let him wallow in his ignorance.Originally posted by Patroklos
I think this is incorrect. The only time you hear of right wing demostrations going violent is the pathetic KKK/Neo Nazi rallies that atract like 20 people and usually it is the much larger counter-protesters who start the violence.
But just look at the WTO, G8, and various enviromental protests, decided left, that have sometimes 10,000 people rioting/burning/looting for days on end.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

This is mostly correct. The far right hasn't gotten violent in public demonstrations in the United States for decades. We really haven't seen much of it since the 60s and early 70s in the anti-busing demonstrations. But the Cuban right is a different animal. This was playing with fire and we were lucky not to get burned.Originally posted by Patroklos

Generally speaking what happens is that a tiny section of the demonstration are some damned anarchists who decide they are going to wreck some property to make a point, and the police attack the whole crowd. I've seen this happen in person time and again. Sometimes there isn't even any property damage going on, the police just get the crowd cornered and attack. There are lawsuits galore from the police riot in the during FTAA talks, and heads rolled down here in the police department. But just look at the WTO, G8, and various enviromental protests, decided left, that have sometimes 10,000 people rioting/burning/looting for days on end.
The media usually gets it wrong. Notice that the print articles refer to 30 people on our side, there were only four of us, and that it was a clash. No one on our side threw a single punch or kick. That would have been suicidal (well, more suicidal than what we were already doing). Plus, there's no way I was gonna punch an old man, no matter what he was trying to do to me. Heck, the cbs4 print article even says were crossed the street and attacked the gusanos (but I think that was just a mix up on the author's part).
That one video with the commentator that I marked as good was really different. He called it the way it really was and his analysis was spot on. Then again, a lot of the Anglo community in South Florida is really sick of the Miami Cubans political violence and stuff (like the whole Elian thing).Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

10,000 people rioting/burning/looting for days on end? Can you back this up, or did you just pull that out of your ass?Originally posted by Patroklos

I'd always thought there were a handful of agent provocateurs, but the majority of protesters are what rightists like you usually call 'pussies'.

The left versus the right protestors is also a question of the need for protesting, as in there is no need for right wing protesting as much as left wing .
For example, with these WTOs and G8s.. if a left winger is against the whole concept, then they must protest. It is a pretty right wing idea, so there's no need to protest against it.
IF the lefties would take over and say, force the market to go down and change the whole system it all works, the right wingers might be seen in the streets as well. I would be there as well, and damn right if someone has a problem with it and they materialize in violence, we need to throw down and do some street combat. In da butt.

Che, good work protecting the junior comrades.
I'm not sure I'd do it though. If I were in your shoes and some junior comrades tried to pull a stunt like this and I couldn't talk them out of it, I'd wash my hands and let them face the consequences of their actions. These things are not a ****ing tea party, the sooner they learn that the better...

What was that protest in Italy a year or two back, in Milan or Genoa? Can't remember, but it was definetly a few thousand, you could literaly see the thouasands rioting in the camera footage alone.10,000 people rioting/burning/looting for days on end? Can you back this up, or did you just pull that out of your ass?
And from the American perspective, France's shananagens last year was the left, definetly 10K."The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.

It is interesting about how all the people who ***** and moan about the Arab street and how there aren't any moderate Muslims doing any counter protests or standing up and denouncing terrorism are now the same people telling Che that he and his "junior comrades" shouldn't have "pulled a stunt" by opposing those Americans (new Americans are still Americans) who would defend terrorists.
I don't think Che and his fellow counter-protesters were dumb or misguided or foolish. I think they did a brave thing and should be respected for it.
And while getting punched by an old Cuban man is never fun, sometimes this is what it takes to shed light on the true character of people who defend terrorists. Now if only the media could actually cover something correctly.
Che, if the papers ran the story and also stated that you guys attacked the pro-Posada side I STRONGLY urge you to write a letter to the editor about it, or call up the reporter and ream them out. If that doesn't produce results, call the editor. That is a serious error, and possibly deliberate and needs to be corrected.
And while you can't do letters to the editor for local news, you should still make a call to tell them their story is wrong and should be fixed ASAP. It is worth doing.

The problem with mass demonstrations are that they tend to attract all kinds of unsavoury hooligan elements who riot for the fun of it and then try to pass it off as "anticapitalism". **** that! They only destroy for everyone else, but they don't care about that. They're just doing their thing and don't care about anyone else...
