So, what should be the difference between educating smart and stupid people?

Well, Lorizael did start with some attitude at first too. "You sure about that?" and "Median, mode, mean - they're all the same, right? ". When I first read it I viewed it like a person who doesn't know basic statistics and still acts with some arrogance towards others.
Maybe I just misinterpreted what you (Lorizael) meant, but I know that my gut instinct was to be condescending as well.
So I'm with KH.
Indeed. And just for PH I'll PHD the joke for him: my first series of posts was mildly condescending because Lori had chosen to be condescending toward the author when he himself had limited understanding. He responded:
That didn't take three posts. You could easily have been just as condescending in one.
Which I promptly and consciously demonstrated.
So shove your self-righteousness up your ass, PH. You're among the group of people here who can be trusted to miss anything involving subtlety. I have little difficulty imagining why you've enjoyed no success with the opposite sex. Flirtatiousness is all about veiled meaning, but you can't see it till you trip over it.

Ah, I see it has come back to this again. Very low KH, very low...
As I see, you have also failed to comment that most of language involves more than just the words that come out, hence the need for smilies somewhat in this text-based form of communication. But although I was trying to offer a bit of 'friendly advice', you've demonstrated yourself as a bit of an arsehole...

...and let us be honest now, this would hardly the first time you have been arrogant and condescending. Where they all in response to other people?
Actually, I think you'll find that I'm only condescending when I'm irked into being so. If by "arrogant" you mean "being unafraid to acknowledge my own abilities" then I'm arrogant all the time. However, I'm also completely intellectually honest. When I don't know something, I admit I don't know it. When I'm uncertain of a conclusion which I've drawn I state it. I don't misrepresent facts. I don't misrepresent my abilities. Lack of intellectual honesty and its cousin, obdurate stupidity, are the most common way people draw my fire. When it's a mild case, as in Lori's post, he gets a mild dose (while I also go to the trouple of typing out a cogent, simple, truthful explanation of the issue, I might add). More severe cases draw more severe wording.
It's the last refuge of the weak man to moan when an adversary points out his weakness.
Something personal and something irrelevant to this issue. But if you want to go for tactics like that, well that makes you far less a person than I ever suspected...

Thankyou. You've made a good defence of yourself and that is cool with me. But the cheap pointscoring (which you know it is), well, that was uncalled for...

I think it's extremely relevant. You're not awful looking, you have a job and you can be social.
