Actually, I think you'll find that I'm only condescending when I'm irked into being so. If by "arrogant" you mean "being unafraid to acknowledge my own abilities" then I'm arrogant all the time. However, I'm also completely intellectually honest. When I don't know something, I admit I don't know it. When I'm uncertain of a conclusion which I've drawn I state it. I don't misrepresent facts. I don't misrepresent my abilities. Lack of intellectual honesty and its cousin, obdurate stupidity, are the most common way people draw my fire. When it's a mild case, as in Lori's post, he gets a mild dose (while I also go to the trouple of typing out a cogent, simple, truthful explanation of the issue, I might add). More severe cases draw more severe wording.

And there you probably have me. I do like to be straightforward in my relationships with other people. Can be a fault, can be a great strength too.
