Well, at least Bush lost the 2000 elections, so it's all right. The problem is that you gave him a clear victory after Sept 11 and the Iraq war...

Gore in 2000 (not the later Gore) was still running as DLC thirdwayer with a hawkish rep on national security, and with Joe Lieberman as Veep candidate.

My favorite candidate so far is definitely Tom Vilsack. He was hilarious when he was on the Daily Show. Generally politicians look overeager and unfunny when they're guests on the Daily Show, but Vilsack was able to make good jokes and speak well without looking like he was trying too hard.
Vile Sack has no chance in hell in getting the nomination.

They need to win some of the battle field states, and race may become an issue there.
Obama's a populist and isn't scared to do things the party base won't like (the base got all pissed when he talked to a bunch a evangelicals a while back, the idiots on DU were bashing him as the spawn of Satan because of it.

Edwards had significantly less charisma than Obama. His main selling point was that he looked like one of the Beach Boys. In the debate with Cheney, he parroted empty phrases almost as badly as Bush did in his debate with Kerry. I took one look at his campaign website and pegged him for solid veep material, but nothing better, months before he settled for the nomination.

I dunno. Buchanan's big fault was that he spent four years refusing to acknowledge the obvious -- that a civil war was looming -- and act accordingly. Condi, like the rest of the Bushies, has already got that one under her belt.

Yeah, but she isn't President yet .

                              It's a youthful indiscretion .
