Hmmm... Obama may be a bad choice for the Dems to put up in a general election.
Given that he has sky-high favorability ratings (easily eclipsing everyone else in the Democratic field, and approaching McCain's numbers), I don't see the justification for that.

As far as resume goes, the strongest candidate (in either field) is NM Guv Bill Richardson (former Congressman, UN Ambassador, and Secretary of Energy), who just came back from successfully negotiating a two-month cease-fire in Darfur (recently he successfully negotiated the release of hostages in Iraq). He could be a strong candidate on the ticket, but he'd probably do an even better job as Secretary of State.

My favorite candidate so far is definitely Tom Vilsack. He was hilarious when he was on the Daily Show. Generally politicians look overeager and unfunny when they're guests on the Daily Show, but Vilsack was able to make good jokes and speak well without looking like he was trying too hard.
Meh. Not as good as Obama on the Daily Show.

It's a good thing for him that being Ming's state senator isn't required by the constitution But yea he'll have to stop being the generic democrat during this, and will lose favorability.

What about Hillary? Isn't she running in 2008?

So are you saying that Democratic primary voters are more interested in substance than Republican primary voters?

I'd have to agree with you there, DD.

Gore and Kerry. That's all I have to say about the wisdom of Democratic primary voters.

Gore wasn't great, but he wasn't a complete loser.

You are making my point for me. Who beat who in those elections? If you couldn't even find someone to beat Bush of all people, what hope is there for you?

I'm more concerned about the American electorate, personally.
