The last 4 episodes looked rushed. The first 6 covered 2 years in real historic time, the last 4 covered 10 years. The first 6 tried to stick close to history, the last 4 degenerated into incoherent pieces of soap operas.
But I don't think the writers and actors are to blame. HBO probably turned off the money spigots and the production team had no choice but to wrap the season up with what it had shot.
The banging scene between O and L was pretty good though.Comment

Finished watching season 2 a couple of days ago. Good season, despite the fact that it was rushed. 10 episodes... that's criminally short. And it seems its the final season. No more Rome. What a bummer

Not here in Krautland
Our tv sucks, and tv stations often make deals to set the dvd release so that dvds are available only after it was on tv. Wouldn't be a problem if they wouldn't suck so much in the first place, having good (foreign) shows often only ages after they came out (like nBSG, Rome)....
We can of course order US/UK dvds but they are usually more expensive than those for the German market (which come with dubbed dialogues, but fortunately also the option to select the original).BlahComment

Well, IMo they are the best (legal
) option for foreign shows here unless you have pay tv. Free tv destroys every good show with all the ads in between
