me I'm okay. I just go through my mood swings. Winter is hardest on me. I had the best time of my life just last night. And I know if I kill myself, I never will have those good times again. I just wish I could get rid of the lows.

Actually I thought about using two guns. Just to make sure. One one each side of the head, and pull the triggers at the same time. I'd hate to be a brain dead vegetable (no jokes on how I already am a brain dead vegetable ).

No need to shoot yourself on the way down. I had a house-mate that did this. She was a schizophrenic and ended it all by leaping off a tower block. Her husband (the other guy in the house) was distraught with guilt until he found the suicide note which, though I never saw it, seemed to 'exonerate' him. I was there when he found it and the relief on his face was unforgettable.

Earlier on the day of her death I'd been driving her around town on errands (somewhat reluctantly), and dropped her 2 minutes walk from the place she was going (her lover's) but refused to take her to the door despite her stroppy demands because it was miles around a railway line (she could use a footpath under the railway) and I had things to do. She left in a hell of a sulk, never thanked me, and that was the last I saw of her.

This woman was actually a serious pain-in-the-ass to her loyal, faithful, loving, husband - and she openly instigated and maintained affairs, including with every lodger they had except me, who seemed to be the only guy that stayed there with any principles, respect for her husband, and a girl of my own who I loved.

Deep down I thought that her death was the best thing that could have happened to her long-suffering husband, who was finally free to build his own life. While everyone else was moping around in mourning, I cheerfully got on with life because I was in the middle of my my college finals and was not going to be derailed. I spoke to the husband about this and he said he really appreciated my normality at a time when everyone was tiptoing around him. Deep down I reckon he was relieved too.

Eventually he did rebuild his life and he became happier than I'd ever seen him before his wife killed herself. She had lived in misery from her illness too, so wherever she went, (oblivion in my atheistic opinion) things could only have got better.

Okay, the boy hanging bit wasn't really funny, but this is.

Kid's an idiot, though. I'm not sure who I blame for this. The parents for letting the kid watch it, or not educating him enough to understand that a hanging is an execution, and that dead's dead... or if it's a better thing this impressionable young yokel did this instead of reading about Saddam, Dubya, or 50 Cent's wild and young behavior and trying to mimic it.
