Well no surprise there, he was loyal and a hardly adventurer, but it was really Merry and Pippin whod learned the military stuff, as is well illustrated in "The Scouring of the Shire" the part Peter Jackson left out.
I just found it hard to follow if Id missed an episode, and I couldnt make the time commitment to watch it every week.
I preferred "The Agency" which was more realistic (AFAICT) and most episodes were free standing. Too bad it was cancelled.
