Fine. Hold on. I'll to it for you. You're pretty damned worthless though.

Try this. If it's not detailed enough, I'll do more work for you.

Sloww, I think that you missed the point that GpT and I was discussing DP and evidence in more genral terms - I think that we all three are quite aware that there are sufficient evidence to convict Saddam
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

    • .......and I was just reading today about a person convicted of rape from 1991 was exhonerated because DNA pointed to someone else

But, I am still not sure how long we should keep someone in Jail before dishing out the punishment.

        • Was he guilty? Probably, although most of you have formed opinions based on media reports, not evidence. Did the trial prove his guilt? Many legal experts contest the objectivity and fairness of the trial. It was heavily influenced by a government that made no secret of it's intention to hang Hussien as soon as possible. And that government was set up by a foreign invader who conducted an illegal war justified by the lies of the US government.

The question I have is this: Do those who support the trial and execution of Hussien based on war crimes as defined at Nuremburg, also support the trial and possible execution of American leaders if they can be shown to be guilty of war crimes by the same standards as applied to President Hussien?

            • The government was set up by the invaders? I was under the impression there had been elections held nation wise and that the victors of these elections formed a government. The elections might have been arranged by the invaders, but the outcome was not.

                • You know I've been hanged, right? I've said it here before. Obviously, it didn't break my neck. Badass rope burn, but...
In fact, I was hanged twice.

Do you have a point to make or is that just the typical impressionable students' approach of hating everything political?

Student’s approach… I would love to be in college again, hating politics…
But no, man. I'm a political cartoonist and I have been for the last 30 years. I'm a 52 years old man, and I was founder of the party who holds the power (I'm not in there anymore ) here in Brazil, the Workers Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores).
But yes, I have a point. I have serious doubts about the legitimacy of the Iraq government. The country is occupied; a sense of revenge is put on the table anytime anything is discussed there. Sunnis and Shiites, a former leader executed too fast, bombs everyday…
And, don’t forget, revenge, hate, power vacuum, terrorists, USA troops, oil…

Do you really believe that their government represents the Iraq people? I mean, even in very well established democracies there are doubts about it in some cases (the first Gerorge W. election, maybe…?)...

I was talking seriously, and was not my intent make you nervous...

                      • Put aside the question if their governments really represents their population (what with all the boycotts etc.), the question is: did the occupants enforce the election result? Is the government a direct puppet of the occupating power? My point was that neither is the case. Your answer implied I'd be wrong in that.

                        • The Iraqi government is representative of the majority.
                          Now it's up to them.

                            • Can't remember this enough. Especially as this was the time of the charges he was hung on. Why were we shaking his hand all the way up to his invasion of Kuwait? Why does Reagan get the pass on this? By the end of Gulf War I, Saddam was still in power, rearmed by the elder Bush, and most of his atrocities were behind him. **** that.

                              • Oerdin, we've also shaken hands with people in China, with the Vietnamese. This was balance of power politics. We knew that Iraq was a baddie. We knew Iran was also. Get over it.
