"wearing kumkum and mala after taking the Ayappaswamy diksha."

Are you people telling me, you know what those things are? Or bindi?

I thought kumqwat, some sort of vegetable, but how would he wear it?

Well, incidentally Kumkum being "teapot" in hebrew, I see no problem with this whatsoever.

          God, India sucks.
Why so? I'm no believer of the caste system myself, I'm just stating the fact that anyone who is born a Brahmin is a target of those fanatical people.

It is important not to blindly believe everything fed to you, you know.
That's hilarious, coming from you. You've been spoonfed a bunch of Hindu nationalist propoganda and you are telling others to think critically.

Meanwhile, Shiva is doing a pretty good job of backing up his position.

The problem is, the new schools which are coming up with the money American and other evangelical movements are sending are rather... radical.

The Christian community in India is also getting more polarised. They recently protested against the Da Vince Code, and forced the government to include a disclaimer at the climactic moment that "This movie is not real", which totally ruined the fun. I've hated these Christian organisations since.
                Wow! True colors, eh.

You know, the movie wasn't real, and it didn't portray Catholicism in the best light. But, I agree, Christians shouldn't have the right to protest. They aren't violent enough about it.

They should definitely have the right to protest. But the government should not cave in to their ridiculous demands, which violate the right to free speech and expression. Free speech is a fundamental right. Full freedom of expression for all!

Deepa Mehta should be free to make Water, I should be free to make a movie in which Mohammed is shown dragging a nine year old girl away from her dolls and into his bedchamber. The Satanic Verses should be unbanned. The books of Taslimsa Nasrin should be unbanned. The ManuSmriti should be unbanned (in Maharashtra).

IF (and that's a big if) the violent protests against Water were organised or aided by any Hindu organisation, and IF any people from these organisations were named and if it was proven in ANY WAY that these organisations were complicit in the violence, THEN I condemn those organisations. And in any case, I condemn any violence that may have happened in those protests as against the right to free speech and expression.

I hope that makes my position clearer.

That still leaves the question - how does this justify that teacher beating the boy?

                              Bombay became Mumbai.
                              Madras became Chennai.

And now, Bangalore may become Bengaluru.
