The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.

Spam enough at teh forum of my homeland and someone will explain what micronationalism is. Just to make a few things clear about Shireroth, though: It's not roleplaying, I used to have a character who was a dolphin (which is now a piece of Shirithian history, which combined with a few pieces of Istvanistani (another micronation) history explains the name and icon of our off-topic forum), it's not a religion, the Cedrist Gods have the ultimate power (even above the Kaiser), we're not out to actually be recognised by the UN or something, we're deadly serious about all Shirithian affairs, we find it a lot of fun, many of us actively want to get out of micronationalism, also many of us have never met another Shirithian, we've held a real-life session of the Landsraad, and we don't find Shireroth confusing at all.
The top and bottom panels are usually auto-hidden so that I have more screen space, but for this screenie I made them non-auto-hidden.
Good lord is that an ugly desktop. Welcome to 1996?

I don't understand the point of desktop icons. I have Firefox or Word or whatever program I'm currently running covering most of the screen, so it's actually harder to launch from the desktop than from the quick launch bar or by typing Windows program name.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Because if I put all those icons on the quicklaunch, there's too much.
I hit WIN-D to find the desktop icon I want, then WIN-D again to restore my windows.

Just in case you were wondering, Ivan (listed in the note) is my friend's cat's name:

My Desktop with Beryl Please use Google's magnifying glass icon to view full resolution.. Picassa-web rules. There are some other cool tools like 3D burning tool-tips, etc... And it is configurable. And it runs smoothly on nvidia GF 400MX

There are only a few applications that I launch often enough to put on the quickbar. Anything else can be reached through WIN-appname. And if you hit WIN-D and select something, it forgets what windows you had on top and doesn't restore them.
You may as well show the pictures of all of the crashes it gives you.
Beryl is so unstable, it can't even be included in Ubuntu Alphas...
There's nothing Beryl can do that WPF can't do -- the difference is WPF is production-grade, with excellent documentation.

Oh, hm, that must have changed in Vista.
It's always been like that...
