Ok. I have a friend who studies gene expression in aspen leaves, just curious if it might be related. She has a similar picture as desktop

I don't understand the point of desktop icons. I have Firefox or Word or whatever program I'm currently running covering most of the screen, so it's actually harder to launch from the desktop than from the quick launch bar or by typing Windows program name.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Because if I put all those icons on the quicklaunch, there's too much.

I hit WIN-D to find the desktop icon I want, then WIN-D again to restore my windows.

My Desktop with Beryl Please use Google's magnifying glass icon to view full resolution.. Picassa-web rules. There are some other cool tools like 3D burning tool-tips, etc... And it is configurable. And it runs smoothly on nvidia GF 400MX

Solver, please post your Beryl screens as you start using it. Let's show Visters what 3D Desktop must look like.

There are only a few applications that I launch often enough to put on the quickbar. Anything else can be reached through WIN-appname. And if you hit WIN-D and select something, it forgets what windows you had on top and doesn't restore them.

Oh, hm, that must have changed in Vista.

You may as well show the pictures of all of the crashes it gives you.

Beryl is so unstable, it can't even be included in Ubuntu Alphas...

There's nothing Beryl can do that WPF can't do -- the difference is WPF is production-grade, with excellent documentation.
