There is nothing interesting about the pictures of crashes. The contents of windows just become black and you need to go back to metacity. And it happens only when I have maximized windows. And it will be fixed soon. I mean soon enough. Before WinVista SP1

What I heard about Vista, is that it is not really stable. And I want to see how you run Vista on GeForce MX400 or on 1.3GHz Processor.

Okay, enough about that, time for my new desktop.

I went to her concert last Friday and I'm totally in love Patsy Cline reincarnated. She even did Crazy when I asked her inbetween sets. Sigh... What a girl. I didn't know they made 'm like that anymore...

I want to see you run pixel shaders on a GeForce MX400.

It already does run fine on a 1.3GHz processor.

Yeah, it's quite irritating that the right side of the screen is unused - all that white space for nothing
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Asher, give me five reasons for Windows Manager to require shaders and GB of RAM.

The window manager doesn't require GB of RAM (it actually uses less system RAM than GDI in Windows XP, as it's all on the video card RAM).

It requires pixel shaders because that's how the architecture works -- a modern one. You cannot apply windowing effects to videos/games, for instance, without pixel shaders.

Do you know what pixel shaders are?

You're the one using Beryl. Doesn't that use the same?

AFAIK it doesn't -- stupidly, it emulates most of the effects using the CPU and then doesn't apply them in the case of videos. The GPU essentially just does alpha blending.

It uses more system resources than WPF and has more limitations.

Beryl is more akin to Stardock's mods for Windows XP than anything else.

realizing I haven't changed my desktop in at least a year, I figure it's time. I'm not sure I'll settle on this one, but I'll keep it for a little while.

I have no idea what it is. Possibly an album cover? Never heard of the band if that's what it is. I just like the image and colors. Kind of makes you want to kill yourself. I'm in such a good mood, I need something to bring me down.

I kind of like this image as well. I was thinking about using it. http://www.cryptonaut.com/data/pics/...o-mortus-8.jpg

I also changed my avatar. Let me know if you like it.
