I would also be interested to see on what evidence that you base your assertion that it will lead to a more stable country.

So basically you're saying that not wanting Sadam killed makes you gay and French. OK.

But its an interesting topic. Why is it that the US, a country with DP in many jurisdictions, is one of the most violent countries, while those without the DP (ie, all western countries) tend to be the most poeaceful? Why is is that DP jurisdictions in the US have higher crime rates than those parts of the US without it?

It just seems odd to support DP when no evidence or research can support its efficacy - to the contrary, in fact.
