            1. Oops. Guilty as charged.

            2. Talking to = material aid. Ooooh, that's a stretch...unless you're referring to a conspiracy.

Not only are they considered terrorist organizations by the US - they are indeed in full compliance with all terms of a terrorist organization.

They employ violent actions (intended to maim or kill) against a civilian population, in an intentional and a premeditated decision. This, with the stated goal of creating fear and panic, affecting the public opinion and the government policy in favor of their case.

                  1) A (as in one) Palestinian official did indeed talk to a (as in one) Democratic politician. They might even have been talking politics, though they justs as easily could have been comparing notes on the best Russian hookers in Jerusalem.

                  2) The Palestinian official, in a fit of self-important hyperbole common to all leaders ruling hopeless crapistans, blew this meeting up to be "talks between the Democratic party and Hamas."

                  3) Somebody called the Dems for comments, got a swift correction, actually bothered to fact check, and pulled the quote.

Just a guess, but I'd bet it's on the money.
                  My suspicion:

Some US factions did held conversations with elements of the current palestinian administration, which were supposed to be kept secret.

A palestinian politician told the press about it, when boasting for reasons of self importance, and trying to prove that the Hamas government is acknowledged.

Both Hamas factors and US factors were angry at the publicity and did their best to deny any involvement. This including pressure on the anonymous source (probably a rookie Hamas politician), to retract his statement.

Thus - with no confirmation, and a retraction of the source - the Jpost deleted the info.

Or more likely, the story was shown to be false so the Jpost deleted it.

About 3 hours ago, I posted the text of the original story here, or at least I thought I did. It does not appear in this thread. I then saved the web page. Just now, when I notice the text was not posted, I went to the saved file. It was not what I saved, but the revised story.

                      Ugh.

The original story spoke of a meeting of Hamas officials with 'officials of the Democrat Party. Later in the story, distinction is made between Hamas "ministers" and "legislators," and Hamas "officials."

It also spoke of a meeting with officials from the EU. That meeting was described in some detail.

In contrast, the meeting with the Democrat Party officials was described to be at a "secret location." Obviously, not above board at all.

As was mentioned above, what the Democrats were doing was criminal. Perhaps that is why the JPost pulled the story, as they could be easily sue for libel and wanted to verify the facts as best they could.

But, I think the DOJ has enough to launch an investigation. Congress ought to investigate as well.

I'll bet what really happened was that the highest echelons of the Democratic Party were meeting with the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah, al Qaeda and several other terrorist organizations solidifying their plan to seize all private property in the US and jack up the tax rates to 125% once they came to power. All proceeds not being used to fund mandatory abortions and show trials for Christians would then be funnelled to the terrorist organizations provided that all future suicide bombings be carried out in the name of Hillary Clinton. Some overzealous Hamas guy leaked part of the story at which point the UN found out and forced the J Post to pull the story against their will.

It's the only thing that makes sense, really.

Kontiki, I take it you would OPPOSE a DOJ investigation on the grounds that even if the meetings took place, the Dems had only the BEST of intentions.
