So Mario 64 is $260?

And honestly, how difficult would it be to make clones of Wii games and put them online?
A royal biznatch, at least until such time as a third party produces a wiimote-style controller to use with a PC. Of course, you could just simulate it with a couple of analog sticks...

Someone did make Wiimote drivers for the comp. Which of course means there is now no reason for owning a Wii!! LOLZZ
Golden demographic is 18-35 with lots of disposable income, is it not?
If such people are doubtful or otherwise not interesting, their product is in trouble.
Not for minivans. Or retirement homes. Or for baby items, unless said 18-35 yos have kids.
18-35 yo childless males is a lovely demographic, but there are plenty of other profitible ones. In this case, with MS and Sony both chasing that demo for console games, its not unreasonable to try a different strategy.

Is "Patch" the word of the day for Sony and Nintendo?

yup, there is another game ender bug earlier in the game, same issue of saving and reloading at the wrong time-Eldin Bridge.
Best to routinely keep backup saves of games just in case, that's what I've done with games since the first zelda had multiple save slots. I've had far too many games wiped out due to bugs or glitches or me making poor decisions to not back time intensive games up.
Sure, when you're first console is an x-box, you're going to have less experience with catastrophic save errors
My worst was involving a game of FF2(IV) on the SNES and my characters were all level 99 and I was trying to get all the monster dropped items...Whatever I did or the game did wiped out the first save slot only and I was pretty pissed.

Is "Patch" the word of the day for Sony and Nintendo?
Because problems like that NEVER happen for Microsoft?
So far, it seems that having no good games available for launch (or even over a year after the fact) is acceptable if it's the Xbox, and outrageous if it's Nintendo or Sony.
Technical problems for consoles, games, and other services that occur during launch are unheardof for Microsoft, and commonplace for Nintendo.
Nintendo is a dumbass for thinking it can sell dumb games like Mario 64, because people can get them for free, illegally, from the Internet. Meanwhile, the XBL Arcade is the greatest example of innovation seen in the past decade, because it allows previously unheard of feats like allowing Xbox360 users to download, at a price, games that are totally different from say, the gazillion flash games available online for free.
Bad graphics on a Wii title means the system is an overclocked Famicom, end of story. Bad graphics on an Xbox title mean the developers didn't take advantage of the system.
Wii titles like Zelda, Mario, and Metroid are tired, crap rehashes, and all that Nintendo has to offer. Titles like NFL XXIV, NHL43V3R, Medal of Honor: This Time You Play Upside Down, etc are, on the 360, apparently not? The Wii having 1 or 2 great titles means Nintendo is on its last leg. The 360 having 1 or 2 great titles is just part of the MS strategery.

Considering the hardware for the Wii is virtually unchanged from the Gamecube, and considering the controller has been available for developers for nearly two years, the "it's a launch, stupid" excuse doesn't really fly.
Especially on their flagship game that I know has been in development forever and a day.

This reminded me of an experience I had, back when Final Fantasy III(US) had come out on the SNES. We were playing it all the time, so the cartridge was getting really hot. Brilliant minds that we had, we decided to put it in the freezer for a minute or so to cool it down. So between running it forever and the freezer, something happened that caused us to gain the max. allowed amount for, it seemed, every single item in the game. Selling these then maxed out our GP.

Even taking all of those things into account doesn't put Microsoft in the clear.

The flaw in the video has no relation to the hardware, its entirely a failure of testing.
