I really have nothing to say on the issue, Eli.

There's an immense distrust between Syria and Israel, and it's obvious that any Israeli journalist will ask trap-questions to the diplomat. And the diplomat is likely to say a blunder, since this pseudo "peace initiative" isn't adressed to Israel, but at the west. Syria wants to look as a good boy, in the possible context of thawing relationships between the west and Syria/Iran.

Any blunder would show that Syria doesn't really intend to make significant compromises with Israel. Just like Israel isn't ready to make any compromise with Syria either.

No, but you hold together like glue - so much that some of you even copy avatars and sigs to prove that point.
You israelis really look all the same - Siro looks like Eli, you look like an Israeli politician, and then there's this other poster who looks like a war cr... - err, a former government chief of Israel.

          Have a nice day.

Nope, because Syria and Israel had been hostile to each other for decades, and any Israeli journalist would be very curious about Syria's sincerity. Actually, a journalist's job would be to be inquisitive about it IMO.

So assuming there is any sincerity, the Ambassador would have been able to stand his ground, would he not?
