one of the Great cities of the world
This phrase is meaningless. The group "great cities of the world" could contain all the cities in the world. New York would also be on the list of "worst cities of the world".

You have an opinion, he has an opinion. Why do you need to base your opinion on what other people think of New York? I've never been there, but I don't think of it as being anything special. I have no desire to visit NY. I will at some point, but it's not something I am dying to do.

I think Chicago is a great town, but my opinion of it has nothing to do with what anyone else thinks of it or any meaningless rankings of "great cities".

But hey, I guess some people need that kind of validation.

Yes, this is precisely what happens when people flock to New York City due to its famous/legendary status and harping from people like you. When they get there, they want to move somewhere far more sane and livable.

Its nice to know you don;t care about Chicago enough to stand up for it. I just find Ashers civic pride funny, cause he lives in Calgary of all places. If he lived in London, or Paris, or Istanbul, or MOscow, fine. Heck, even Chi-town. BUt Calgary?

Besides, there is a basic difference. I don;t create thread after thread about how great NYC is. On the other hand, Asher does not seem to be able to not post something lauditory about his little burg. Of course, if I were to act like Asher, I would get banned for too many threads.

I'm sorry, this is an economics thread.

Could the civil servants incapable of understanding anything other than history class please vacate the thread so the people who actually make an impact in this world can talk to eachother? Thanks.

If you have no interest in Calgary, why must you post here to criticize. Go away, do your servant duties and file more paperwork for your boss bureaucrats to rubberstamp. And while you're at it, go pick up NYC's garbage.

Yeah. That is why you post a graph devoid of any explination for the graph or what it measures....RIGHT.
