Spiff has a point that we haven't witnessed the typical backlash over the event, most likely because of the victim's political affiliation.
The interesting part though is that this news has made the delights of conservative blogs and editorials all over America, so at least you can argue that the silent satisfaction that has followed the incident in France demonstrates exactly the opposite of what they'd like to.
