No 39 Az-Zumar
Surah AL-Zumar

41/39] Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

[42/39] It is Allah that takes the souls (of men) at death; and those that die not (He takes) during their sleep: those on whom He has passed the decree of death, He keeps back (from returning to life), but the rest He sends (to their bodies) for a term appointed. Verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.

[43/39] What! do they take for intercessors others besides Allah? Say: "Even if they have no power whatever and no intelligence?"

[44/39] Say: "To Allah belongs exclusively (the right to grant) Intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: in the End, it is to Him that ye shall be brought back."

[45] When Allah the One and Only, is mentioned, the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter are filled with disgust and horror; but when (gods) other than He are mentioned, behold they are filled with joy!

[46/39] Say: "O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open! it is Thou that wilt judge between Thy Servants in those matters about which they have differed."

[47/39] Even if the wrong-doers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgment: but something will confront them from Allah, which they could never have counted upon!

[48/39] For the evils of their Deeds will confront them, and they will be (completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at!

[49/39] Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us; but when We bestow a favour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!" nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!

[50/39] Thus did the (generations) before them say! but all that they did was of no profit to them.

[51/39] Nay, the evil results of their deeds overtook them. And the wrong-doers of this (generation), the evil results of their deeds will soon overtake them (too), and they will never be able to frustrate (Our Plan)!

[52/39] Know they not that Allah enlarges the provision or restricts it, for any He pleases? Verily, in this are Signs for those who believe!

[53/39] Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[54/39] "Turn ye to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that ye shall not be helped.

55/39] "And follow the Best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you - of a sudden while ye perceive not! -

[56/39] "Lest the soul should (then) say: `Ah! woe is me! in that I neglected (my Duty) towards Allah, and was but among those who mocked!'

[57/39] "Or (lest) it should say: 'If only Allah had guided me, I should certainly have been among the righteous!'

[58/39] "Or (lest) it should say when it (actually) sees the Penalty: 'If only I had another chance, I should certainly be among those who do good!'

[59/39] "(The reply will be 'Nay, but there came to thee My Signs, and thou didst reject them: thou wast haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith!'"

003/055 Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.


003/059 The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.

Surah 7 ( chapter no 007 ) Titel The Heights:

007/175. Relate to them the story of the man to whom We sent Our signs, but he passed them by: so Satan followed him up, and he went astray.

007/176. If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

007/177. Evil as an example are people who reject Our signs and wrong their own souls.

007/178. Whom Allah doth guide,- he is on the right path: whom He rejects from His guidance,- such are the persons who perish.

007/179. Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).

007/180. The most beautiful names belong to Allah. so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited.

Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Knower of Things Hidden.

005/117. I spake unto them only that which Thou commandedst me, (saying) : Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou tookest me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things.

005/118. If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves, and if Thou forgive them (lo! they are Thy slaves). Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.

005/119. Allah saith: This is a day in which their truthfulness profiteth the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph.


Surah 4 ( Chapter No 004 ) Titel The Women

004/157. And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger They slew him not nor crucified, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture ; they slew him not for certain.

004/158. But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, wise.

004/159. There is not one of the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them

004/170. O mankind! The messenger hath come unto you with the truth from your Lord. Therefor believe; ( it is) better for you. But if ye disbelieve, still, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is ever Knower, Wise.

004/171. O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three". Cease! (it is) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender

The natural inclination for religious faith is an integral part of the human essence. This is an indisputable fact of history. All scholars of comparative religion, regardless of their own religious backgrounds, agree that religious belief is a natural human condition. They differ, however about its origins.

No, it's not, it's what many religious people claim. As one agnostic religious scholar said (roughly): "I figured some people have a deep inner drive drive to believe, some do not. I do not feel that need but I respect it in others, sometimes I even envy the inclination to creed.

The "natural inclination of all humans" is an artifact, just as it is an artifact to claim that religion has been "invented" solely for purposes of social control. We have to accept the other as he/she is, without underlying allegations.
I do not have a personal religious drive, and it's NOT mere indifference, please respect that.

I see the 'religious drive' as asking philosopical questions about the meaning of life and the origin of creation, can you say you have never asked yourself these questions? in the past people wold find these answers in religion, these days they find the answers in science as well.

I guess you didn't read my post.
I clearly said that it's not indifference, I just don't have any inclination to believe in some superior being when trying to grasp the essence of this world. I'm not saying I'm not asking questions, quite the opposite. I'm talking about not feeling a need for a decisively RELIGIOUS explanation of the world. simply don't like when it's alleged that I am oppressing/neglecting my "natural religious inclination". That's an old argument trying to discredit atheists and agnostics.
It's about as nice to claim that about atheists as it is to claim that religion (essentially) is ONLY "opium for the people". We should not go around tutoring the other about the true nature/origin of their (non-)belief.
