The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

How can I humiliate the idiots of this forum when I can't dig out posts by all those morons declaring for instance, what a cakewalk Iraq would be etc - or finding previous posts backing up certain points and positions
Oh, but you can. It just requires some actual effort.
Go into the OTF archive. Sort from "the beginning" in ascending order, and sift through it yourself. It starts in 2001. Edit: doing it that way, 2003 starts around page 40.

Then you agree with me that the search capability doesn't properly work!
I knew we'd get there in the end - me making a bunch of posters eat humble pie...
I did some fooling around and the search engine is quite a bit lacking. Sometimes it worked fine and others it didn't find anything on common words that you know are out there
I would do what Arian suggests. Even if it is extra work.
I did try.

At least not for the archive, it does not appear to work. Personally, I never claimed otherwise.
Now, are you going to do the leg work needed to dig up old posts about Iraq? I've already found one thread. The two most vocal supporters in that thread have both changed their minds dramatically. One served in Iraq, the other went lefty and then vanished.
However, considering that the US government has painted itself into a corner on the issue where it either eventually nails Saddam or loses face in a big way, the changes of it happening remain pretty good (say 50%).
If it does happen, I don't worry so much about the actual fighting as the aftermath. The only post-invasion plan I see as having a silver lining is an Iraqi Marshall Plan, and that: a) is extremely expensive, b) is time consuming, and c) requires a large number of occupation troops. Given the current administration's dislike of nation-building and the current US economic situation, I don't see the Bush administration going for that type of plan. The war itself would cost a pretty penny too. So I worry that if there is a war, we'll just pick some general, hand him Iraq, and bail.
Gee, a truely paranoid person would be checking those threads to see if they said something stupid. Fortunately for me, I don't have to because I'll just assume I did.

Now there is a leap in faith
As stated, the archives go back to the change over from 2001.
Not all threads were archived. Yes, at first, there was an effort to keep the "good" threads (totally a matter of opinion), and then we went through a period where just a few threads were actually archived, and then period where almost everything was archived... it's very inconsistent. This was totally due to the time required/time available for the project. In the on topic forums, almost everything was archived. Not so in the off topic.
The search feature is limited at best. Yes, if you want to select the OTF archive, you need to select it specificially.
And like most search engines (and yes, this one is particularly lame) you need to play with it to get the results you need. Try some different terms, different types of searches... while it isn't the best of search engines, I've usually been able to have it spit out what I'm looking for.
And when it doesn't, I have ended up using the method described by Arrian... slow, and very time consuming, but it does some times work.
But worth it if you have a point you want to make and aren't lazy?
