It's crap because Bush was facing absolutely no risk in the guard position he was in. You can sit here and pretend that getting a position in the Texas Air National Guard training to fly obsolete jets in order to avoid combat was somehow risky or honorable, but you'd just be a moron for doing so.

And bringing any other experience your friends or your girlfriend's brother may have had into the equation is just ridiculous. Maybe if they were the sons of wealthy Congressmen, they would have gotten the same kind of preferential treatment. To pretend that the children of the privilaged didn't get such treatment during that era is just idiotic.

For some reason you are under the impression he was actually training like any other member of the Texas Air National Guard. I don't know why this is. Though perhaps your irrational reaction can be an insight.

Also, "training" in the Air National Guard is a lot safer when you aren't actually training, but actually doing campaign work for your father who happens to be a Congressman.

Bush was "training", not training.
